Coastwatch Scotland ST Monans cover a distant of 12 mile Coastline from Pittenween to Largo Bay. Our station is fitted with a fixed v,h,f marine radio, five pairs of powerful bionoculars, one powerful telescope, four cameras monitoring the Firth of Forth, life jackets, first aid kits ,7 hand held V h f radios, rescue helmets , TORCHES plus other emergency equipment. Monday May 21 2018 Coastwatch ST Monans was requested to check out a green tent on the coastal path Out come the tent belonged to be couple doing the coastal path walk .All ok. TODAY MAY 26 WE CARRIED OUT LOOKOUT DUTY,ABERDEEN COSSTGUARDS NOTIFIED 4 VOLUNTEERS ON DUTY, WE OBS ON DUTY THREE YACHTS, ONE FERRY THE MAT PRINCESS, ONE LARGE TANKER AND WALKERS ON COASTAL PATHS. WE WERE IN CONTACT WITH ABERDEEN COASTGUARD DURING OUR SHIFT, WEATHER DRY SUNNY, WIND NORTH EAST, SEA CHOPPY VIS GOOD. Today MAY 27 WE WERE ON LOOKOUT DUTYBTGREE VOLUNTEERS ON DUTY, WEATHER DRY WARM SUNNY,ENE WINDS, SEA CHOPPY, VIS GOOD. WE OBS THREE YACHTS, ONE SMALL CRAFT A FERRY THE MAY PRINCESS, AND LIGHT AIRCRAFT. PLUS LARGE NUMBER OF WALKERS ON COASTAL PATHS, NOW OFF DUTY ABERDEEN COASTGUARDS NOTIFIED. TODAY 28 MAY COASTWATCH STVMONAND HAVE BEEN ON WATCH TODAY ABERDEEN COASTGUARDS NOTIFIED THE DAY STARTED WITH THICK HAAR BUT THIS SOON CLEARED AND THE SUN BROKE THROUGH , WE OBS ON DUTY TWO BOATS, THREE YACHTS, AND THE FERRY MAY PRINCESS. THERE WERE THREE VOLUNTEERS ON DUTY.NOW OFF DUTY ABERDEEN COASTGUARDS NOTIFIED. CARING FOR YOU ALONG THE COAST...ON JUNE 21 AT 13.20 HRS WE WERE TASKED BY ABERDEEN COASTGUARDS TO A lady who had fallen 30ft down coastal path we attended and assisted until further teams arrived lady lifted in basket stretcher to waiting ambulance. On Sunday June 24 WE were paged to kite sufer in trouble at Elie some four miles from out station we attended kite sufer ok no assistance required...on each call out four team members attended...
